The school year is coming up fast!

Hello Demo Readers and contributors!

The school year is just around the corner, and as we desperately soak in every last ray of sun and late night outing (perhaps enjoying a concert or two?) we'd like to remind you of a little thing we call Demo Magazine!

You may have seen it on stand around campus, or at its home, the amazing Hart House :D

If this name rings no bells, well, please write us to learn more! We are friendly and always up for a chat with a fellow music enthusiast! If you are shy, we will encourage those talents we know you must have ;)

Interested in the music scene in Toronto and on campus? Eager to write a review, do an interview, or snap a few photos? Great at layout? We could use your talent!

We will have our booth at the clubs fair, right outside Hart House.

Demo is always on the look out for writers, photographers, and artists.

1. Writers:
Interested writers, message one of the editors for a application form. Completed applications are due by Friday, Oct. 3rd, 2008.Sections in the magazine includes Hart House / On Campus News, Features, Student / Alum Spotlight, and Reviews (films, books, albums, live shows).

Selected writers will be contacted and article assignments will be given the week of October 13, 2008.***Note: Writers may also submit previously unpublished articles for consideration to be included in the issue. Writers may also submit pitches for potential article assignments.***

2. Photographers, Artists:
Demo also accepts original photography and artwork related to music. Please submit to demo.harthouse@gmail.com.We are also looking for regular photographers to join the team. If interested, please send three sample photographs to demo.harthouse@gmail.com.

3. Getting More Involved:
If you would like to get more involved with Demo, we are looking for Section Editors, an Assistant Layout Editors, Communications Managers, and Web Designer.

Section Editors
- Work with rest of editorial team to conceptualize ideas for article assignments within section --- Edit articles within section
- Communication with writers

Assistant Layout Editor
- Help Managing Editor with creative layout design for all pages of magazine
- Must have knowledge of In-Design

Communications Manager
- Responsible for magazine outreach into local community
- including distribution of magazine- Organizing fundraising initiatives
– develop system for advertisements within magazine

Web Designer
- Initiate a new web design for the magazine
- Help maintain the Demo blog

Call for Writers - Demo's Fall Issue

Demo is always on the look out for writers, photographers, and artists. See below for guidelines on how to get involved.

1. Writers:
Interested writers, see attached for a short application form. Completed applications are due by Thursday, Oct. 4th, 2007.
Sections in the magazine includes Hart House / On Campus News, Features, Student / Alum Spotlight, and Reviews (films, books, albums, live shows).

Timeline for the FALL ISSUE:

Deadline for Writers Applications: Thursday, October 4th, 2007 (right before Thanksgiving weekend)

Submission Deadline for assigned articles, and article submissions: Friday November 2, 2007

The Fall Issue will be published in Mid November.
